What is RBdigital?

RBdigital offers a wide variety of services and content formats through a single platform and mobile apps. Libraries offer the services to active users through a personal account.

How do I create an Account?

We recommend creating an account on your first visit to your library’s RBdigital website. Select the “Register” link in the upper-right-hand corner of the screen. Fill in the information requested by your library. Enter a user name without any spaces (i.e. user123). Passwords must be at least four characters long and can contain both numbers and letters. Passwords are case sensitive. Usernames are not. If you need further information for creating an account, check with your local library staff.

Is there a way to search for available titles?

Yes, there are several ways to search for available titles. Click on the search icon at the top-right side of the screen, select the format (audiobook, eBook, magazine, comic), select the Advanced Search tab, and choose “Available” from the Available dropdown menu. Then click the search button.

You can also use the Filter option to search for available titles. Click on the search icon at the top-right side of the screen, select the format (audiobook, eBook, magazine, comic), type in your terms to search by Keyword, Title, Author and Narrator, and click the search button. When the results load, you can click on the Filter button, click on “Availability,” and select the Available option to show all available titles within your search criteria.

How do I search for only one content type such as Audiobooks, eBooks, magazines or comics?

Click the search icon at the top right of the page and select your desired format (audiobook, eBook, magazine, comic). Type in your terms to search by Keyword, Title, Author, and Narrator, and click the search button or use the Advanced Search fields to perform a detailed search.

How many titles can I check out at one time and how long is my checkout period?

The number of checkouts allowed and the checkout length are determined by your local library. Please contact your library for more information.

Why can't I see the file type before I download?

The file type you receive is based on your preferences. RBdigital includes all available media formats.

Can I renew a title?

The ability to renew a title is determined by your local library. If your library allows renewals, follow these steps:

Click on the three-lined “Menu” icon in the top-left corner of the page

Click on “Check Out.”

Click on the date shown under the name of the title you wish to renew.

You can also renew a title by selecting the “Renew” button on the title details page.

Please keep in mind that the renew time will not be added to the checkout time. We recommend renewing the title the day before the title expires to ensure that you are given extra time to listen to the title.

How long can I renew a title?

The length of the renewal is determined by your local library. Please contact your library for more information.

Why is there only a hold button?

An audiobook or eBook title will display the hold button when another patron has the title checked out. The hold button may also be displayed if you have reached your maximum number of checkouts. In rare instances, the hold button will also be displayed if your library allows you to see titles that the library has purchased but is not published and available yet.

How do I put a title on hold?

To place an audiobook or eBook title on hold, go to the title details page and click the hold button. A success message will be displayed, along with your place in line. You can view the titles you’ve put on hold on the “Holds” page in the three-lined “Menu” icon at the top-left side of the page. For your convenience, RBdigital will automatically check out the title to your account when the title becomes available for checkout. An email stating the title is available for download will be sent to the email address you have on file. When you receive the email, you can look in your “Checked Out” items to download your selection.

How do I remove a title from my hold list?

Titles can be removed from a hold on the “Holds” page. Simply click on the “X” button found above the title image and a confirmation message will ask you to confirm your hold removal.

Can I transfer to my Android device?

A RBdigital app is available for Android devices with Android operating system 4.1 or later is now available in the Google Play store. An account with your library’s RBdigital website and a Google account are required to access the application and use the service. Data usage fees may apply, so please check with your carrier.

Can I transfer directly to my iPhone / iPad / iPod Touch?

A RBdigital app is available for Apple/iOS devices such as iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch through the App Store. An account with your library’s RBdigital website and an iTunes account are required to access the application and use the service. Data usage fees may apply, so please check with your carrier.

Can I transfer directly to my Kindle Fire?

A RBdigital app is available for Kindle Fire for audiobooks is available through the Amazon App Store. An account with your library’s RBdigital website and an Amazon account are required to access the application and use the service.
